Privacy Policy

AnesthAssist ("we", "us", or "our") helps pre-Anesthesiologist Assistant students organize program research, prerequisites, and deadlines. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we work with to run the service, and the choices you have.

We collect information in three broad categories: waitlist signups, account authentication, and the academic planning data you choose to save.

• Waitlist information — if you join the beta waitlist, we collect your email address (and any optional fields we explicitly ask for) so we can notify you about access and product updates.
• Account & profile information — if you create an account, our authentication provider may collect identifiers such as your email address and name (depending on how you sign up).
• Academic planning data you provide — information you add inside AnesthAssist (for example: coursework, GPA inputs, test scores, saved programs, notes, and tasks). This data is used to power your personal workspace.
• Technical & security data — basic diagnostics like IP address, device/browser type, and logs that help us operate the site, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.

• Provide, maintain, and improve AnesthAssist.
• Communicate with you about beta access, product updates, and support responses (you can unsubscribe from non-essential emails when applicable).
• Authenticate users, protect accounts, and detect fraud or misuse.
• Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the product experience.

We use trusted third-party services to host and operate AnesthAssist. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations. Depending on how you use the product, this may include:

• Authentication — Clerk (Clerk privacy policy).
• Database & backend — Convex (Convex privacy policy).
• Hosting & infrastructure — typically Vercel for the web app (see Vercel's privacy documentation for details).

We don't sell your personal information. We don't share your academic planning data with AA programs, schools, or advertisers for their marketing purposes.

We use industry-standard safeguards designed to protect information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to apply reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the service.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to update or correct your information.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your account and all associated data.
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.

We use cookies and similar technologies as needed for authentication, security, and basic site functionality. Third-party authentication may set additional cookies required for sign-in. We don't use cookies to run third-party ad tracking on AnesthAssist.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make meaningful changes, we'll notify you via email or a notice within the app. Your continued use of AnesthAssist after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
